Respite Support Services

Providing daily care for a child or young adult on the autism spectrum requires time, energy, and constant attention. Everyone needs a break now and then, and that is where Amazing Integrated Care Services comes in.

Our respite support is designed to step in when families need temporary assistance, without disrupting routines or quality of care. We focus on creating a positive experience for individuals while giving caregivers the opportunity to rest, reset, or attend to other responsibilities.

Maryland Autism Waiver

Home and Community-Based Medicaid Services for Children with Autism

Program Purpose

The Maryland Autism Waiver is a state-funded program that helps children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder remain in their homes and communities. The program offers individualized supports that reduce the need for residential or institutional care by focusing on long-term, community-based solutions.

Who Can Apply

Families interested in Autism Waiver services must first place their child on the Autism Waiver Registry by calling 866-417-3480. Enrollment opportunities are offered when program openings become available.

To qualify at the time of application, individuals must:

  • Have a documented diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Be between the ages of 1 and 21 (through the end of the school term)

  • Live in the state of Maryland

  • Be enrolled in an IEP or IFSP that includes a minimum of 15 hours weekly of special education or related services

  • Meet institutional level-of-care requirements under ICF-IID guidelines

  • Be able to remain safely at home with appropriate waiver supports

  • Meet Medicaid financial criteria, including income limits up to 300% of SSI and asset limits of $2,000 or $2,500 based on eligibility category
